If you don't do custom work per your post below, how can you say it's a money maker? I believe the OP asked about custom rates.
I think $20/A would also be a money maker. I think one normally prices what the market will bear, not cost plus ?%.
Seems cost/acre would depend on soil conditions. How hard does a field pull? Lots of tracks in the field? Cut up due to wet harvest? Sandy? Wears down the hi-pro knives, or whatever brand knives pretty fast.
Not many (any?) in custom NH3 app business up here. Strip till w/dry fertilizer (no NH3)...yes. But not for $12/A. But then again, they probably don't know how to farm or manage equipment.
