#6 is wrong. Frost will go way deeper on bare black soil. Even the solar concepts in spring won’t make up for it. I was thinking a lot of the same things when I turned the piece super black a couple years ago and it’s all south facing and sloped and it took forever for the frost to get out. It holds no snow for insulation
