100% cracked or broken rings. There is a collection canister on the side of the engine which collects oil blow by. You will know when its time when that thing spews oil all over the left side of the engine. I had one done a few years ago at around $22k, but things have gone crazy since then. I would replace the turbo if you're that far as well. good luck
