Marion,ks

My dad started farming in 1948 after highschool.army 54-56 . He always said the 1950s where the worst ,they could not grow anything but wheat from 53-56. creeks all dried up and   wells had to drilled deeper.Hes been gone now 12 years wish could ask him how this weather cycle compares because  its about the same conditions.  I farmed in the 1980s and this is far drier. Right around here we are worse than last year and our wheat looks better than to the west . I am preparing for a dry 2024 if it changes great buteverthing is in wheat.looks fine, nocorn or beans  planned  for next year, creeks dried up no water to irrigate ,culled the cowherd hard a year ago and the last 1/2 are probally going next spring if things do noi change the pastues where used hard this year and need a rest.
