Very cool. Being in the dealership business for 75 years and 3 generations SO FAR, we have similar stories, but some from the other side of the counter. We have the sales invoice from the first Gleaner my Grandfather sold in 1959, and we still dealer with the same family today. Unfortunately, Grandpa traded for that combine a few yeas later and sold it, but the memory and story still count.

We have a couple tractors he sold new in our collection that we fell into over the years, and never would have known if the original manual and paperwork was included. We also do have a couple he bought new when he was farming, one being an SC case he farmed with, and used as a loader tractor at the dealership.

Maybe one of the coolest for us is an Allis Chalmers H3 dozer Grandpa sold to Grandma's cousin, and his Grandkids called us a few years ago and asked if we wanted it back. Didn't take long to think about that. They found all the original paperwork for it, and it now has been freshened up and gets take to a show every couple years. Dad's family has a habit of showing up and just riding it around on occasion as well, though most of them left the farms many years ago, they all grew up on it.

Some tractors just aren't machines, they are family. The memories you have of the people who spent their lives on them will always come back...and like the others have said, save it from the scrap yard, you'll regret that someday!
