Floyd County, Iowa | For 8 years my loader tractor was a JD B with a Horn loader, then for the next 13 years it was a JD A with a Stan Hoist loader, both with narrow fronts and trip buckets. It wasn't optimum, but I made do with what I had. You learn coordination real quick, and build arm strength. Was used mostly for snow, but did clean the hog lots with the A a few times.
My friend borrowed the A for a day to move snow when his Minnie-Mo was broke down. When he brought it back, he said you have to be an octopus to run a JD 2 cylinder with a loader.
When I put a Westendorf loader on the 706, I thought I had the world by the tail with a foot clutch, live power, and power steering. | |
