Given the history of the tractor and its sentimental value I can't see anything but regret for selling it as the years pass.  I have heard too many people express regret for selling a tractor with sentimental value.  Think about how you will feel down the road when your father is gone. At least keep track of where the tractor is and ask for first shot at it if it is ever sold.
