Windom, MN | Since you asked JD, I have a 2011 JD 2210 36' field cultivator. Not the floating hitch one, it's fixed.
It's a heavy one. Had an early JD 980 before that and did have to weld on the frame. The 2210 still looks great, no cracks.
200 pound trip force on the shanks, it does stay in the ground. single point depth control is nice. It's TALL when folded, only 3 section so I think it's over 16' tall so I can't get it in a shed, but do clear all the power lines around here. It's probably the biggest con on the machine...too tall. Run 7" Nichols knock on sweeps. JD sweeps didn't last when we got it so converted and do like the Nichols. They've held up much better.
4 bar spring harrow on the back works. Lots of guys have baskets around here but we don't like them, hard pounding rains happen often in the spring and causes crusting issues. We demoed a basket once and that exact thing happened, so I won't buy a basket. | |
