cropsey, il 61731 | Ok, but now I wonder how it got done when only class 6 machines were available - ie. 2188, 9600, TR98, etc? I guess there was the R72 gleaner.
It has been my understanding that places that farm 10K acres (and it's normal for the area) don't really have the yield to deal with so capacity isn't as utilized as in highly productive areas. However, as labor costs go up, I could understand increasing capacity vs. finding good operators.
Lots of the big combines start in Europe, but I thought their farms were typically smaller (not 10K acres). Is custom combining a bigger thing over there such that class 9/10 is the only way the custom guys can get it done?
It's apparent that I've been raising hogs for the last 22 years and really haven't paid attention. | |
