McCanna, ND | Should figure out if you want chopping on non chopping first. A lot of guys around here have went away from chopping heads. We did as well. Running a case 3416 now and it does exactly what we are looking for, by next spring most spots where the knives cut the stalk will have broke in two or be so broken down our strip till bar has minimal issues with the stalks, but the pieces don’t blow like a chopping head does.
Good knife rolls and yetter devastators are probably as good as a chopping head with much less upkeep.
