There are 2 dealers in a nearby area that have shut down NH3 sales, due to high insurance rates, costly upkeep of
tanks, spotty weather, late springs, etc.  Urea is easier and safer.

Don't need a dealer to use NH3. A lot cheaper to have on farm NH3 storage, than pay through the nose for retail NH3. Only extra Insurance cost I have is insuring value of storage tank and wagons.


Retail is much different, lots of rules, dating on valves, liability insurance, etc.  Some things farmers do not have to do.
It's a business decision.  One dealer almost had a worker killed a few years ago, when a hose broke........
