SWOH
NH3 went from being widely used in this area to basically non existent over the past 15 years. I can think of a handful of guys that still use it but they’re pulling tanks a long ways to do it. I don’t know of anyone locally that has on farm storage. The meth problem was huge in our county for awhile and that’s about the time most co-ops got rid of their tanks, but I don’t know if theft was the main factor for the decline.

We have never used NH3 on our farm. We have never put any nitrogen on in the fall other than in manure form and in the spring we don’t have time to mess around with NH3. I hope it doesn’t disappear though for the guys that want it.
