EC SoDak | Soil type, depth, tiling, etc probably explains a lot. 20” of moisture (depending how it comes) and some sub moisture will grow 250+ yields here on shorter day corn vs out east BTW.. I can grow 200+ on 9.5”, hotter than average, and two rounds of hail and wind with snap during and right after pollination on my heavy dirt fields. Surely a place as special as IL with lower than avg temps and bigger day field corn than my silage corn can blow me away?.?. According to data we have, while they may not want to admit it, they can. But based on comments here, that couldn’t be possible. Maybe, just maybe, those of us out west with high producing ground do indeed understand such parameters and can provide valid input….
