I use mine all the time, i have them up to 2". They don't make the jumbo's anymore. Would scare you what a 2" gearwrench would cost you today
reversable offsets are my favorite
T & E makes a good ones.
fixed handles let you apply force better.

Edit- after looking closer i see what you are talking about
Open on the gear side, never used them before
