| Stihl USG is the best.
I run one that I bought used in about 1999.
I don’t know how many chains it’s sharpened, but it’s a bunch. I wear out 3 sharpening wheels a year. I’ve seen them used online for 300 or so. I have a raker wheel, but don’t ever use it. Not worth the time. I just hit the rakers on the bench grinder every few sharpenings.
I’ve used the Oregon version and it’s fair. But i would buy the used stihl over a new Oregon. Their stuff used to be good quality, but the last roll of chain I bought from them is the last ever. The China chains are better and about 1/2 price for 100’ rolls.
My brother bought one off Amazon that looks like an old style Oregon copy. He says it’s better than driving to my house to sharpen.
I sharpened some chains for a friend with a harbor freight one he had bought. It did the job, I’d guess after a few sharpenings you’d have everything pretty out of whack with one though.
I’ve not used any handheld electric devices. The files are really for people like loggers cutting trees. They sharpen up when they are done for the day and haven’t hit anything or overdulled a chain. I do firewood and can’t imagine trying to use a file to fix chains I’ve run in the dirt and hit random crap with.
