Sioux County, NWIA | I’ve baled bean straw in every state from fully chopped to not chopped at all. Majority of it has some level of chop. Fully chopped is a bit fussier to rake up into a nice windrow, but the baler doesn’t care one bit. I would not recommend fully chopping bean straw if it is going to be dropped in a windrow. The resulting windrow will be so tight it won’t dry, and will be hard to rake if you want to rake it. | |
