Deep tillage is sometimes a vicious circle. Rip it up in the fall, then spend the next 8-10 months packing it back down. I do conventional tillage,very minimum tillage, no-till , and cover crop. Yes we do a little bit of everything for various reasons. I’ll get blasted , but it seems for us unhealthy soil packs the easiest.
