Pittsburg, Kansas | Best is a subjective term. This is what I use most of the time. Wouldn't call it the best but works pretty good. I have another one that has a motor similar but you manually hold it. There are the professional ones with the grinding discs that will sharpen a lot faster but the thing I like about this one is it takes off no more metal than hand filing so the chain lasts a really long time. And you don't have to remove the chain from the saw.
Takes a bit of head scratching to initially get it set up to the angle and depth you want, but once set up and use it a time or two works fine. I have three different saws with three different chains so I have to change stones and the depth settings each time I switch saws. But I grind them all at the same angle so only takes a minute. I think I gave about half the price they are now. Mine is several years old.
Can touch up the chain quickly right out in the timber by simply hooking it to a 12v battery. No need to take the chain off the saw.
