nc ks | I may be wrong, but i just find it hard to believe that at some point our exports won't pop again. The world is going to need corn and beans. And i also think it wouldn't take much. If we would have had even a hint of export activity the last 9 months, grain prices(or at least basis) would have exploded, here anyway. What an opportune time for the river system to be low. If western feedlot/ethanol country would have had a crop last year, the north couldn't have given their corn away, but they had a pressure relief valve to the southwest by rail. If there would have been export business and good river navigation to fight for those bushels....katie bar the door on the market we would have had. I think we are still in that situation. Lots of good crops alot of places, but big deficit areas as well. If we end up with some export business, I don't think our pile is burdensome. | |
