If you like to do tillage, don't apologize for doing what you want to do. If it works for you thyen do mit. All the guys with No-till and cover crops are forgetting 1 important need for their program to work. That is the toxic poisons that they are forced to use in their operations. Herbicides, insecticides and fungicides all destroy the biological life in the soil. They are kidding themself if they believe it is not happening. One day the crazies will vote in the politicians who pass laws removing the ability to use these poisons and then we will all be back to doing tillage. I do rotations that involve alfalfa and grass to loosen up some of my tighter soils. I can farm 1st year of taking them out with few chemicals and then no-till my sidehills till seed down time. Sucks giving all the money we give to some chemical companies when we could do a better less intrusive job all around using fewer.
