Stoddard Co. SEMO
IH tillage equipment was always the best. The combines were a far superior design and much easy to maintain. The cyclo planter had vacuum, bulk fill and better row unit design. The only drawback to the cyclo was the down pressure for each row. I do believe Deere had better tractors at the time but this was only because of the powershift transmission. I’ve spent alot of hours in a 4840 and still have two of them but I’m not a fan of the soundgard cab. I’m speaking in terms of the 70’s through the mid 80’s and my opinions are regional.
