Nebraska, The land of corn and cattle | Depends on what kind of size youre talking. Weve had a 7-23T Gehl (Manitou) telehandler for a few years, and its our main farm loader, loads feed, digs dirt, pallets, loads bales, a sky hook, lifted rafters on a shed, built fence, literally everything youre talking about. I cant imagine having anything else. It says 7k lb max lift and 23ft max height
Neighbor has a 320? case tracked skid loader we borrowed, and honestly its not much more nimble than the telehandler, maybe just a little because it is physically smaller, but not worlds better.
Now we have a 753 Bobcat that we got in trade for some work, and it compliments the telehandler nicely. Its small enough that it fits easily into spaces that are tight for the telehandler, but it has its limit, it maxes out at about 1300lbs so it cant lift full pallets or totes. But for tight work and being able to see the front edge of the bucket its is nice.
So having both is really the best of both worlds, like cleaning pens, I make a lap around the outside by the fence, and around the waterers, by the bunks, etc, and then use the telehandler for the rest of the pen
We have an adapter to use skid steer attachments on the telehandler, but we only use it for the bale spear, the telehandler would tear up anything but the heaviest skid steer attachments like a bucket. Downside is that telehandler attachments are much more expensive, our main bucket is 2.75yrd and it will fill it digging yellow clay |
