They are so different that it is hard to really compare as they both excel in their strong points. For ease of entry/exit a telehandler wins hands down. For doing dirt work and just about any precise loader work it’s hard to beat the skid steer, mainly because of visibility and maneuverability. The maneuverability of a telehandler is surprisingly good though due to 4 wheel steering. The poor visibility towards the right hand side with a telehandler is a major downfall and requires a person to have a good situational awareness of working in tight corners because of the lack of a visual sight line. The extended reach of the telehandler is amazingly handy when needed though.

I have both and I really don’t know which one I would give up first. While they both can do most of the same jobs they both have such significant strengths in certain areas that it really depends what your priorities are.
