The dirt work part of your question really depends. It’s hard for any machine to out perform a skid steer for general nimbleness and capability when doing small earthwork jobs, and while a telehandler can do it, and I’m sure somebody on here will say they’ve moved thousands of yards of dirt with one, it’s really not a great fit in my opinion. I know some folks who are really good at dirt work and grade with a loader or telehandler, but I know way more who absolutely hate it and want the skid steer for maneuverability and visibility or a steel track machine for power.
I’ve yet to meet someone who regretted buying a telehandler on the farm.
