East of Broken Bow | Around 85 or so, I was at the State FFA convention in Lincoln. We had a contest to go to(Ag Mechanics) in a building right by the tractor testing lab. Our group got there a little early, and they were running a tractor around the track, an IH 88 style, can't remember the number. Anyway, we just wandered up kind of near the track, yet a safe distance away, and we all swore that the tractor was power shifting through several gears, up and down, under load, towing the test rig behind it on the track.
About that time, a guy saw us, walked over to us, and said that if we wanted a tour, he'd schedule one for the FFA kids, but that we shouldn't be there without a guide. Some of us also noticed that as soon as we were spotted, that tractor drove into the building as soon as they saw us, as well.
Makes me wonder if we didn't see one of the prototypes being tested. | |
