SE Iowa
Corn was surprisingly good in SE Iowa and we were drier than all of Illinois for the growing season. Had a few fields run 225-235 with most in the 180-210 range. Beans were just ok. Not a let down as expectations were low but after a few early corn fields came off I was pumped to roll over to beans to see what they would do which quickly turned to meh… 40s and 50s covered it all but one field that’s further north than anything else we have and it was low 60s.

With this known I started my usual incremental sales for 2024 today as I could see this potentially going down from here (corn at least) and if not and my worst sale is behind me I will make reasonable money next year.
