Madison Co. Virginia | If money was no object --
1985-1987 k30/v30 SRW regular cab long bed with 10,000-lb gvwr.
Bone stock appearance, with factory-correct two-tone paint, and a stock mahogany interior. Vinyl floor mats.
Stock squarebody wheels, hubcaps, and 235/85r16 highway-tread tires.
2020+ L8T 6.6L direct-injection gas engine.
Either a 5.61-first gear nv4500 or a tr4050 transmission.
Driver's drop transfer case of some sort.
Superduty Ford front axle that's been retubed to match the squarebody dana-60 axle shafts and leaf spring spacing.
3.73 or 4.10 ratios.
2005-ish 14-bolt full-float rear axle with factory disk brakes.
Hot-dip galvanized chassis and brackets.
CAN bus based wiring harness.
Half-ton leaf springs in the rear, with four-links to avoid axle wrap, and air bags to bring it back up to full weight rating.
Basically, it would have the capability of a modern gas 3/4-ton truck, but with all the look and feel of a squarebody.
Edit: on second thought, scratch the tr4050. First gear is too low on that one. I'd use an Advance Adapters bell on a 5.61-first gear nv4500, a dodge 29-spline mainshaft with a fully-splined fifth gear, a Dodge rear extension housing, and the 1-1/4" input shaft and clutch disk intended for a 8.1/nv4500 combo. The flywheel would be the stock piece for a Mexico-market Silverado with the direct-injection v6 engine, and the pressure plate is whatever I can get hold of that will fit. The transfer case would be the np241dhd that came in the late 90's Cummins trucks. All those parts will bolt together as far as I know. Finding the part number for the Mexico-market flywheel is a challenge.
