Subject: RE: Old grain truck axle rating.

Sioux County, NWIA
Old single axle was probably rated for 15,000 lbs. I have an old single axle truck frame with a 10’ dump box on it. Clevis hitch to pull behind a pickup or tractor. I figure not to load it over 7 tons net. I have also in the past pulled a 325 bushel gooseneck trailer with a pickup and you could no way, ever, in any fashion, convince me to hook that old single axle dump box to the bumper hitch of my pickup and load 7 ton on it. No way no how. It would be scary at 5 mph. Half load maybe. Really maybe.
