It isn't going to hurt to have extra ponies. If working easy they will probably be easier on fuel than a smaller engine working harder. That has always been our experience. In our hills we have to run basically double the horse power as we need on the "flat" ground. The 620 doesn't have enough hardly in the hills and in the flat areas just plays along.

Don't let extra horse power be an issue. It will save you money in the long run.
