Townsend, Montana | Wheat is more of a main crop for me. Sold 2023 dryland winter wheat for $9. Yielded just over 20 bu and made me good money - minimal fertilizer, free rent, stupid amount of herbicide, etc. No real complaints.
Irrigated spring wheat is currently locked in the bin. Break even is about $8.50, mainly due to rent and fertilizer. Should be able to pay off my operating with hay. No other debt.
As such, I see no reason to open the bin doors until I can break even and put a little extra in my pocket. Posted on here awhile back that I was holding for $12 and selling for $5 - don't see any reason to change my plan at this point. | |
