If it was a wood framed storage shed, that "might" become a shop; I would add housewrap, to the vertical walls, BEFORE sheetmetal was screwed to the exterior walls.

The interior insulation and vapor barrier could be added later, to walls. {I assuming a person would use a ceiling, for a shop, attached to bottom wood trusses, that could all be done later, also.}

Edit: the "Block-it" brand is what 2 popular You-tube wood post frame builders use.

Negative. House wrap is built like GoreTex. It allows moisture to travel through to the outside. This would trap moisture on the back side of the steel. That area needs to breathe. Just use a moisture barrier on the heated side (inside) of the insulation when, and if, he installs insulation.

The wind will blow right thru any gaps and the 36" laps in the vertical sheetmetal panels. You aren't going to "trap moisture" back there, when there is still air movement; plus those top and bottom foam closer strips, don't seal out air flow perfectly, either.

The disadvantage to only using insulation and an internal vapor barrier (without any housewrap) is that you really increased the opportunity for extra air flow, in your insulation (assuming fiberglass style) and thus the fiberglass loses a lot of it "insulation capacity".

I doubt Kyle, from RR Building, would be doing Block-It housewrap if it "trapped moisture" against his steel panel buildings, if it caused damage.

I feel there is only "one-shot" to install it, easily = during initial build.

Cost probably just over a $1200-$1400 for wrap, staples, tape

{Yes, if he can afford spray foam, then he can skip it}
