South Central IA | I just built exactly what you are describing with no provisions for it to ever be a shop. I may regret that, but I've always taken the Maine approach of upgrading as you have need/money. You do lose some efficiency that way but you won't lose sleep over the 50k concrete bill in the mail that has to go on your operating note at 9%. My only advice is, if you do put concrete down, put pink board underneath and all the plumbing you think you might need someday. Heat, fresh water, slot drains, provisions for toilet etc. Mine sat unused for several years after I built my shop but I'm sure glad they are there now. By the way I'm 10 years older than you and when I was 28 I built a shop that's now too small so maybe don't listen to me. | |
