I'd love to hear the rest of the story. Tillage is frowned on by so many or is it just the vocal ones. Haven't done any deep tillage for eight years now and carrying capacity of the fields is great but yields are just fair.


Was just thinking about tillage last night -- Wonder how much "you'll burn all your organic material up" really happens when the soil will be frozen in 48 hours

I remember driving through West Central MN a couple years ago mid winter and was amazed at two things: 90% of the ground was chisel plowed, and the ditches were full of black soil.
