Subject: RE: YouTube viewing

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I have DISH satellite TV and YouTube is one of the channels. Actually I watch it more than the other "regular" channels. It's quite obvious that they are aware of my habits since I am hit up with local Ads or Ads dealing with farming. Some of the Ads force me to watch them completely. Others have a countdown indicator in the lower right that allows me to jump out of the complete Ad after a few seconds.

The episodes I'm presented are based on my viewing habits. This is handy but a bit scary.

On a whim, I purchased one of those Roku units at Wal-Mart after Christmas last year. This plugs into one of my HDMI ports on my living room TV. One of the choices on it is YouTube. This means I can watch YouTube either through the DISH system or through the Roku device. Going through the DISH system seems to lose audio and sometimes forces a reset. The reset takes several minutes to put itself back together.

I could and maybe should drop DISH and just pay for channels on the Roku device.
