Looks like they wrapped the knee braces with aluminum siding to keep the ammonia out of the attic where it’ll rust out the rafter plates.
They quit putting ceilings in here and started painting the rafter plates. Nothing like seeing 12 Amish guys with rattle cans monkeying through rafters 35’ in the air spraying plates.
