The permit may make you legal, but it doesn't automatically raise every bridge, turn signal, and utility wire for you.
Matter of fact if you hit one I'm pretty sure they don't care if you had a permit or not.

I’ve only been had my class 1 over 20 years and been hauling overdimensional freight all that time.
I’m good for 5.0 M height anywhere in AB. And for your information overpasses, lines and traffic signals are over that in AB. The only restrictions on my permit are roadways under constructions may have dimensional restrictions and cities over 10,000 population I require authorization from the jurisdiction responsible for their roads.
My BIL was hauling a module and was 8.0M tall. He snagged a high voltage line. He was permitted for that height. The line clearance was less than the utility had reported to AB transportation. Because of that, the utility was responsible for all damages. |
