| Like Barren said, to each their own. We all have our own opinions of these shots.
It started out with a few with extreme views on both sides and the majority in the middle. As time passed and we all waited for the mass extinction to start happening in our own circle of friends the media continually bombarded us with fear and kept society as a whole following a bunch of ever increasing fear based procedures and lockdowns. This had the effect of slowly swaying the group in the middle into compliance even though they were still waiting to see evidence of the apparent mass extinction event anywhere other than on the news. Eventually in some cases this led to severe segregation of the members of society, to the applause of those at the extreme compliance end.
Now that the fear porn in the media has subsided the middle group is noticing that those at the extreme non-compliance end are still on the top side of the grass like those in full compliance. They got the answer that they were seeking. They didn’t have to comply and they quite possibly had been tricked by being lied to. Large numbers of the middle group has now shifted to distrusting the media and medical community. And likely quite rightly so.
Now that they realize that they have been lied to once they are wondering what else they have been lied to about. They are now watching everything else with increasing scrutiny and seek the truth from whatever side it may come from.
Some of us didn’t go through any significant life event but many did. Marriages didn’t happen, graduations didn’t happen, elderly folk died alone, thriving small businesses were lost, etc, etc. We as a society as a whole are responsible for that, not the virus. Those people can never recover and relive what they lost in what may very well have been a big lie to force compliance.
Those people above bear the brunt of the cost. They paid an extremely high price. Quite likely a much higher cost than the majority of us on here arguing about this topic. Likely the best way forward is to agree that we never again try to force others into a mold that works for our own situation. To each their own.
