Subject: Soil test for soil health

SWMN
What kind of soil tests are you guys doing for your healthy soils? It seems that the conventional NPK soil tests are not keeping up with the changes to soil biology. Our central crop consultants keep pushing for more p&k as our soil tests keep going down, but our yields are very good for the area. We have switched from tillage to strip or notill and are pushing cover crops more and more. Protein levels of corn are increasing as well. Don't get me wrong we still have fields that get hog manure and conventional tillage, so we have a wide variety to look at. I feel as though something is different in a good way for our healthy soil biology, but I simply don't put much faith in the fertilizer salesman tests. Is Haney test something you guys do? Or is there something else?
