E.Central MN | The RMA didn't lower the premiums for enterprise units on a whim, they did it because the data must have showed that the risk of payout was lower than for optional units. If every farmer had an unlimited budget then they'd probably stay with optional units. But the lower rates for enterprise units allow farmers to raise their coverage level to get more protection from widespread weather and price problems. But it has trade-offs. Bottom line, if farmers didn't think it had value then they wouldn't be switching to it. | |
