They’ll let you know when they’re ready. You’ll see them leave the fence line and go out to graze maybe in small groups at first and eventually the whole herd of calves. At a certain point they’ll start congregating elsewhere. I’ve seen the process take as little as 2-3 days and as long as a week or so.
