Someone can correct me if im wrong, but I think most heavy spec trucks will be less likely to see these transmissions. It was more fleet type trucks to get the auto shift transmissions early on. The 5900I internationals , the W900 kenworths, or the Classic Freightliners were more to get a 18sp. Finding a fleet type with a 10sp might be a task. I have zero desire to own a auto shift truck, simply not because I like to shift gears, but more of because the Allison auto is the holy grail of any automatic transmission, and shall not be infringed.... :)
I know JB cut the nuts off everything they ran to save fuel . But all of the autos I drove were an absolute DOG . Like most big companies they would trip over a dollar trying to save a penny . |
