Lower Indiana Hill Country | Back in the late '30's, Mr Roscoe Foutch had the local John Deere dealership and would take reams in on trade for a new tractor. One team he traded for were good horses and he priced the at $200 for the team to get them sold quickly. About 3 farmers came by and looked them over carefully, but wouldn't buy them. The next day or so,another farmer came in and asked how much for the team? Ol Roscoe chewed on his cigar and said "that's a mighty good team...I'll take $300 for them. The man took the money out of his pocket and started home with the team. Ol Roscoe always said you can underprice something and people will be scared of it. |
