The wagon in the 1976 picture looks much like the ones Green Giant sweetcorn pickers would tow behind in the 70s in Minnesota. They used mostly IH tractor mounted 2 row ear pickers and towed those type wagons that would raise and dump into the trucks parked at side of the field.
The pickers went to 4 and 6 row New Idea self propelled uni-pickers by the 80s. At some point they had semi trucks in the fields and made such a mess along with forcing 6 row on the planters that Dad quit raising sweet corn by the 90s. | |
