This should really, really be posted on a website for doctors. I don’t know if it is a superiority complex or if it is part of their training but the medical field is the worst by far for universally exhibiting this trait in my experience.

I know unexpected emergencies can happen but if dealing with emergencies is just a normal part of the work day they aren’t unexpected, they are normal. Assume they will happen and staff accordingly instead of wasting everyone else’s time.

Dr. could always tell you run out of time for your blood work/tests,if you are still alive come back next week**************

Jmho but Drs. /Nurses/health care workers have the worst jobs going ,always dealing with the sick and now days underpayed compared to other professionals like farmers
If you have friends in health care they often miss holiday meals or are late as either working a shift or on call or emergency

Have you ever had blood work/tests done by a doctor? Every hospital I’ve ever been to and everyone else I know has always gone to the medical lab for those procedures. Is it different in your area?

In my opinion while doctors are important and their work should be appreciated I do not value them as any more important than a plethora of other professions and I certainly don’t think simply being a doctor gives them the right to act disrespectful to other members of society. A doctor would be extremely upset if he took the morning off to meet his plumber for a 10am appointment and the plumber didn’t show up until 1:30 because he got called away to something more important. The doctor also certainly wouldn’t expect to have to wait without any explanation nor any information of how long the delay would be. He also would not expect being treated that way would be the norm. He also would have an issue with not being able to make it to his next shift.

I respect doctors, I don’t revere them. They don’t have the worst job. They have the job they choose to do and they don’t think it’s the worst job or they would be doing something else. They have a job I wouldn’t want to do but they wouldn’t want to do my job either.

I have many friends in the industry as well as family members, including a sister that was a head nurse in a large OR. While they might have to take on extra shifts if staff shortages occur it is very rare for them to not know ahead of time when their shifts will end. While it is possible for things to happen unexpectedly and on short notice that changes their plans it is not very common at all for that to happen. If they miss a holiday meal it is almost always known about long in advance. They can often plan events like that around their work schedule much better than the majority of farmers, especially livestock professionals.
