Central Texas | We don't dry corn around here, the sun does it for us. Like the other poster said, we'll push air through it as we get cooler temps and then let it sit until we sell it. The volunteer corn is a battle every year. We could end up having to deal with it multiple times after harvest depending on how much moisture we get in the fall. We'll get the first flush after the first rainfall when the corn has been harvested. After we deal with that, we can have a repeat after more rain. Usually try to disc the fields to get rid of the first round and then maybe run a chisel plow the next time. If we get too wet to do tillage we'll come in and spray with clethodim to kill it. | |
