Subject: Questions for southern farmers

I farm in the upper Midwest.
1. When you dry your corn and it comes out of the dryer warm, how do you cook your corn to a safe storage temperature?
Here it is usually cool ( 50 degrees) when we dry and the bin fans can cool the grain to a safe storage temperature quickly
2. It has been very unusual warm here after we harvested a couple corn fields and then last weekend we received 2” of rain and now we have embarrassing volunteer corn. Is this common in the south where warm temperatures are more common after corn / soybeans harvest?
Thank you
