Hooker Twp,Ne | We live in an area that bean harvest normally doesn’t start till Oct 2nd. At least that’s what an old elevator manager told me. Well got rain out of field before lunch so decided to head to Walmart for some supplies. Walmart about 17 miles from me. Was surprised at the amount of harvest beans and corn. Well above 50%. This early harvest is NOT good for yields. Believe before it’s all said and done the crop isn’t there like some think. Watching yield monitor I’ve seen 80-200 bu in the same short quarter mile rows. Normally we have in the 150-180 bu range corn. No way we see that average this year. Yes there are some good yields but I believe the poor yields over power them. | |
