Even dairy cows are dangerous. I keep saying to the kids don’t pet them because the day they came in heat the might want to play with you

I've been mounted on a few occasions by a Jersey. You quickly learn to recognize the grunting and the head laying behavior that proceeds such, and just give them a quick smack across the face as you turn to walk away.

Honestly, a lot of the danger of dairy cattle is based on the human's size and physical strength. I tolerate a lot of clowning around by the cows, simply because I'm a tall strong 37 year old. But for a youngster or an elderly person, even a docile dairy cow can become dangerous just because the person can't handle as much abuse.
