They do track you. Why, I don't know.
Don't believe me? Go to some place like Home Depot and stand next to something you normally wouldn't, like the nail guns, air compressors, or whatever, and mill around there for 5-10 minutes.
I can almost guarantee that you will get pop up ads for nail guns and/or air compressors.
