Nah we'd still be here, Heck I've been going near that long myself, farming skipped a generation here, dad started from scratch, no family land. So he worked in town and farmed just like me and my brother do.

Would we farm as much without insurance? Idk, some of the more marginal land might would need to come down in rent to keep, but I think a lot of our inputs would go down because i think people would more weigh the risk vs reward of every input on every crop. That would put pressure on input manufacturers and suppliers to keep prices low enough guys would find in worth taking on the risk to use.
